Moebius Model's HUGE 1/32 Classic Cylone Raider

Started Moebius Model's HUGE 1/32 Classic Cylone Raider today. I'll be adding Paragraphix's PE louvers when they are released. I'm looking forward to painting this beasty.

Spent the day on Moebius' HUMUNGO Raider. Don't let all that putty fool you, the fit was pretty good. That's just me tightening everything up. The was a big gap behind the cockpit but it was fixed with a strip of styrene. Finally, I will be using the kit's base with the additional of a raised Cylon emblem. Speaking of the base, what's with the earth image and triangle?

About the odd base. I'm told it's a copy of an old Aurora design. Completely irrelevant to the model but the art is on the inside so it can be easily hidden.

Some progress. I'm reconsidering the PE louvers. There's no cockpit and I don't think I want to scratchbuild one so I may just go with the kit louvers.

That thing is that huge and has no cockpit? What a ripoff.
Put this in your mouth.

Sanding and filling is complete. Now how about some color suggestions. Mobius is pretty vague about the colors, pale gray, cool gray?

Doing a quick search, the studio Raiders were painted with a silver and grey mixture.

Preshading is done.

My gut said to go with Dark Ghost Gray so I picked up four bottles over the weekend.

I'd add a bit o' silver. It is supposed to be metal/mechanical, and the old school cylons were all shiny 'n stuff.
