Trumpeter 1/32 AV-8B Harrier Night Attack

Postby Dasphule » Tue Jul 08, 2014 8:17 pm

Started this one around the same time I started the Blizzard Bad Guy F-16 and have been piddling around with it ever since. Typical Trumpeter fit and accuracy. So much to fix, so little patience for it. Aries cockpit fit pretty good, but not without some chopping and filling. The hardest part of assembly was gluing the scoop fronts with the cutouts to the hull. Also had to fill the undersides of the LEX, Trumpeter apparently didn't think a finished wing was necessary. Anyways, lotsa filling and forcing parts to fit. Here's the collection of pics I took while building. Should finish up around the same time as the F-18E in time for Nationals!

Cut out for the new cockpit.
Had to add the screen on the right for it to be accurate to the Night Attack version.
Tub is painted
Cockpit Sidewalls painted
Added some mesh on the tail puffers, the plastic detail looked like crap.
More missing detail I added.
Wow! First time ever I had a cockpit fit this well!
Trumpeter, ifyou're gonna leave out parts, can we at least get a template to cut our own? Asshats.
Oh you're gonna glue up tight if I have to force ya!
These little dividers were fun...

I get all moist when I see the paint job you do on control panels. 8-)
