1/100 Gundam Astray Gold Frame Amatsu

Postby JonintheRedZ28 » Tue Sep 02, 2014 2:48 pm

I could have sworn I already posted this but I don't see it, I snapped the gundam together a while back, and started taking it down for painting today, several of the pegs were so tight they broke, and the shield was so tight it bent my tweezers and eventually broke off entirely, opening a large hole in the shield. I put the chunk back in place with tamiya cement and filled the cracks left on the face with superglue and sanded it the best I could, it feels smooth, we'll see if it shows or not. Once all the parts are on sticks I'll spray the blacks with model masters black chrome trim, the greys Flanker blue/grey, and the reds will be alclad candy red.

The shield repair shows and I've got a few issues on my black but overall it's turning out ok

It has now been clearcoated, no supermarket in all of plant city had future but luckily our local michael's had testor's clears
There are issues, and I don't think it's as good as my god gundam turned out but the black chrome trim really seems to mesh with the alclad candy red and most of the mask issues are minor, a spot of bleed through, a couple undermasked spots and a few overmasked but on the whole I'm happy with how the paint looks, and I'm itching to put it back together now, though I have to paint the eyes and the camera in before I do, after the clear is set

Reassembled. Turned out ok, plenty of issues from it fitting very tightly amd me lacking finesse to deal with that right now
:-/
Overall I like it though, it'll look good on the shelf next to the others

Now I panel lined it. I'm putting a little elbow grease into it at the moment
Basically the panel lining is the same as usual. Some turned out well and some makes me cringe. We'll see how it turns out as I keep poking it
